Today’s new music recommendation is Australian Indie/Ambient/Rock band City Escape. The Melbourne natives are a mix between The Receiving End of Sirens, Thrice and Underoath and I’m confident we’ll be hearing more from them stateside in the future.

Today’s band is Doyletown, Pennsylvania’s Indie/Progressive/Rock band I Am Alaska. I Am Alaska plays a brand of aggressive prog rock similar to later At The Drive In and Fall of Troy, their latest effort “To Elude The Architect” gives a glimpse of what potential this band has.

My good friend Zach Lipkins told me about this guy. This guy is going to blow up. He definitely has the sound of “now”, and by now I mean summer. Check him out now so you can get your “I Told You So” card.

neufvoin

Neufvoin are an Indie Rock band I came across from Kuopio, Finland. The song “Rat Race” reminds me of an aggressive Bloc Party, minus the vocalist, while incorporating an early 90’s alternative rock flavor. Neufvoin’s “Robokop” EP is an impressive effort from the Finnish group, the highlights being “Mouse on Mars” and “Rat Race”, strongly recommend giving them a listen.
